An International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) has passed a fully accredited examination set by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE). The IBLCE certification is recognised as the Gold Standard for health professionals working with breastfeeding women, and all IBCLCs are required to adhere to IBLCE's Code of Ethics. Passing the IBLCE exam is a requirement for ALCA membership, and all ALCA members are also bound by ALCA's Standards of Practice. The Lactation Consultants listed here are members of ALCA. There may be other IBCLC qualified practitoners in your area who are not ALCA members.
